Progress development KDP data catalog

The KDP development team is working on improving the search functionality of the data catalog. The basic information for the search function is the descriptions of the datasets, the metadata. The KDP development team is currently working on getting this metadata in order.
In the current situation, we have metadata in different formats, resulting in inconsistencies. That is why we now bring the metadata together in one 'single source of truth'. This simplifies the improvement, adaptation and distribution of the dataset metadata and forms the input for the search function. KDP will use CKAN for the search function, an open source package that is widely used for Open Data (including at data.overheid.nl).

Feedback Survey: KDP - data catalog

A few weeks ago, the KDP development team sent out a survey to ask for your opinion on the current data catalog (baseline measurement). With the survey we want to gain more insight into your experience with the use of the data catalog. The results are included in the further development of the functionality of our data catalog so that it meets the needs of our users.

First Ruisdael dataset available on KDP

We have recently accessed the first dataset from the Ruisdael project via KDP. It concerns a dataset that contains the hourly data provided by Ruisdael Observatory's Metek Micro Rain Radar (SN 0510056436) placed at Green Village (Van Den Broekweg 4, 2628 CR Delft). Time interval of measurements is 10 seconds and the range resolution of 35 meters. Green Village is a test site, so take into account possible effects on the quality and availability of the data.
See KDP dataproduct ‘Precipitation - 10 seconds measurements by ruisdael micro rain radar (metek) at green village (tu delft)’.

KNMI daily and hourly data can not be reached via projects.knmi.nl

Since mid-February, the climatic pages have gone offline and it is not possible to download daily and hourly values via interactive selection. This was not foreseen and resulted in a large number of questions about this. There is no equivalent alternative to this at KDP, because it concerns climatological data and we have very limited climate data on the KNMI Dataplatform, but mainly offer real-time actual datasets.
In collaboration with the team that deals with these pages, we now refer to the unfiltered, total dataset at https://www.knmi.nl/nederland-nu/klimatologie-metingen-en-waarnemingen. The selection scripts must be re-created for a new environment. It will take at least a month before they are available.
